Ingredients
Method
- In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, capers, lemon juice, pickles or relish, onion, tarragon, dill and parsley (if using).
- Mix until all the ingredients are well combined. You can use a blender to make it smoother or mix by hand for a chunkier tartar sauce.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Store in the fridge for about 30-45 minutes until the sauce is cooled. Serve cold with your favorite dishes. Garnish with some fresh herbs or a lemon wedge.
Notes
- I like to use bottled mayonnaise to save time. Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise is a tasty option and gives the perfect creamy texture for the tartar sauce.
- If you don't have fresh lemon juice, you can use Iberia lemon juice concentrate and it's just as tasty.
- Finally, you can use any capers but I prefer organic capers because they're a bit healthier.
